You know I love my friends...

“The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense.” Proverbs 27:9 (NLT)
Friends. They come in all shapes and sizes. Some have big hearts. A few deliver the sunshine of laughter. One may offer a slender shoulder for you to cry on. One ally might listen while you whine, while another may speak the truth even when it hurts. One girlfriend may bring a casserole when you are sick, still another offers a prayer for healing. Pals will compliment you, hug you, watch your kids, and send you a birthday card. Or they might call once a year just to catch up on life. Whatever type of friends filter through your life, true healthy friendships are a gift from God.
This is not something I wrote on my own...but it nails it right on the head. I love all my friends...the ones I have in my life locally, and the ones from the net...you have all been here for me when I needed a hug or a kick in the butt! This process of adoption is wonderful and stressful. We were at a Life Links group...AKA Bible study. We were talking about why we wanted to start this group and what we had been through in our life. SO I had mentioned about our m/c and IF issues...and one of the girls who is now a good friend of mine told me that when her and her husband were having trouble conceiving her father...a very wise man said..."until you take your hands out of the He can't help you!" ( BTW they now have 4 beautiful children!) I thought that was so profound and I have never forgot it. So in the beining of the journey...my Best Friend Amy would say stuff to me..."you are still hanging on to it...even though I had said a million times that I had removed my hands from the pot! I will tell you...SINCE I removed my hands and turned it over to the Lord my life has been changed! So many things have happend to us durning this process. I now know that I have no control over our adoption only the Lord does! I can cry, be depressed, be mad that we weren't chosen, and stomp my feet and say "when is going to happen!" all I want...it doesn't change a thing!
So I say this to all my friends who are stuggling thru this journey...(you all know who you are) TURN IT OVER...GIVE IT TO HIM...LET HIM TAKE CARE OF YOU AND YOUR BABY...TURN IT OVER! That may sound harsh...but I hate to see you struggle through this process...It hurts me to read your blogs and your emails, hearing you suffer with this process...I ache for you...I am here for you...email me when ever you need to talk...I will tell you to TURN it over to Him. Even if you are not a spirtual person...do it anyway. It makes a huge difference!
Now I am not saying I have all good days, because I don't...but when I am feeling down...I ask for help...Trust me...please trust me! I love you all and want the best for all of you! Remember that always! I will not be cencered! LOL hugs

I just have to say that what Colette is writing about is true because I did the same thing! I realized I had no control over it anymore, I wrote the best "dear bm" letter I could and put together the best profile I could and the rest is really up to God. I turned it over to Him and felt much better about it! I had bad times, too-like holidays, but I no longer dwelled on it anymore on a daily basis. If we were not chosen I would ask why, and 3 times it was because the bp went with a couple who had a child already!!!!!! But I was not upset, it just wasn't meant to be. I totally agree with Colette and say to everyone - turn over to the Lord and release some of the burden!

I too agree with "turning it over" to whatever power you believe in or have faith in. Not having control is such a difficult obstacle to overcome but once you "let go" and realize it truely is not in your control perhaps there can be some peace! HUGS!!!!!

Amen......
As I've said before.. If the Lord leads you to it, he will lead you through it.
Life is a journey, a game of sorts. There are parts you can control but there are more variables that we have to work out as we reach them. Patience can be a difficult characteristic to manage along the way!
Lean on the Lord as he will show us the hope and peace and patience we need to help us through our endevors.

True friends are rare today, but those that we have... Well they deserve our love and understanding... I agree with every word your wrote....

Philippians 4:6-7

"DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT ANYTHING, BUT IN EVERYTHING, BY PRAYER AND PETITION, WITH THANKSGIVING, PRESENT YOUR REQUEST TO GOD. AND THE PEACE OF GOD, WHICH TRANSCENDS ALL UNDERSTANDING, WILL GUARD YOUR HEARTS AND YOUR MINDS IN CHRIST JESUS"
